2 Brothers Moving & Delivery has an opportunity for a full-time Office Operations Manager who is especially skilled in HR & office organization. As the hub of the office the ideal candidate will help our growing company add head count while keeping the gears of the office running smoothly.

Role (duties):

This role will be asked to do the following functions on a regular basis:

  • Human Resources - Advertise openings on various media channels, pre-screen incoming applications and manage the hiring process and hiring team. Administer new hire onboarding, provide support to department managers in managing employee training, performance and reviews.
  • Office Team Management & Leadership - Manage the office upkeep, appearance and supply. Schedule and balance workflow for the office team, set individual and department goals and celebrate wins regularly, ensure work is completed on time and within departmental budget, provide coaching and training to team members, run effective meetings and checkins.
  • Culture Leadership - Support company wide culture enhancing events, employee and organization celebrations, display of successes and victories and overall company fun.
  • Bookkeeping & Administrative Support - Process and manage accounts payables and receivables, manage department approvals, process timesheets, payroll and provide financial reporting support to the executive team. 
  • Inter-Departmental Support - Provide backup support to the operations and client services teams.
  • Organizational Development - Identify new opportunities to better serve our customers & team, provide support to company-wide initiatives and strategies, act as a primary member of the management team and support person to the CEO with an emphasis on strategic decision making for the company, present quarterly on departmental progress and metrics.

This role reports directly to the CEO.

The work environment:
The office team works side by side with our operations & warehouse team at our central office in downtown Industrial NW Portland. Primarily office work with occasional use of the warehouse is to be expected. The office involves heavy use of multi-line phones and multiple computer screens with a “command center” like feel. We’re passionate about being experts in our trade so all team members, movers and office alike, are cross-trained with regularly scheduled field trainings and workshops.

Goal posts:
The ideal Office Operations Manager will play an instrumental role in taking our office flow and organization to the next level, they will:

  1. Improve the gears behind our recruiting/onboarding process to help the team achieve a mover staff level increase of 50% within the next year.
  2. Successfully take over all bookkeeping and administrative functions from the CEO so he can focus on more CEO'ish things
  3. Partner with our department managers to create a new employee performance review cycle and implement a company wide regular meeting process.
  4. Work with department managers to achieve a retention rate of 85% of all field personnel through management, mentorship and leadership.

This position has the opportunity to grow into a director or executive position as a member of the C-suite.

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate for this role will exhibit the following:

  • Demonstrated experience and desire to be a key contributor to confidential collaboration and decision making at the executive level
  • Exceptional leadership & people management capabilities preferably in a heavy training and mentorship environment
  • A high-level of detail oriented organizational style with the ability to manage other office staff and departmental managers' workflow
  • Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks and payroll a plus
